Our story
About the brand
This project was launched on 08/08/2020.
08 was to commemorate the Octaball.
08 to stress the Octaball. To say it again!
2020 to make it the 20-20 world vision to keep us all healthy. The world coming together for a good cause. All stops were pulled to launch on that date because there would never be another date like that one, ever!
The precursor to the launch was “Exercise For You” website www.exerciseforyou.co.uk. We did ask participants to jog or walk and to keep the scoreboard/times.
How well did you do?
Our fitness game is four times more fun than football because it has eight goalposts compared to two for football. Any direction is a potential score! Needless to say how much fun it is, just watch a game of football when a goal is scored and how the team manager and supporters react! Now imagine four times the fun.
Why the ball
Because of its nature, the ball is the ideal companion in matters of keeping fit. It can roll and change direction unpredictably, move at incredibly high speed across and up and down and cause us to stretch and spread as we chase after it. To make keeping fit durable it has to be fun. This is were we come in.
The new game in town
Social distancing
The game allows for social distancing and this eliminates physical contact with other players and it goes without saying that injuries are scarce. Spreading of dangerous viruses is greatly reduced.
Attributes
24 games fit in a football pitch area and therefore more players are accommodated.
Partnerships
We all know about the yo-yo effect of trying to keep fit. Keeping fit demands extraordinary willpower and commitment. We aim to make it easier by adding fun and partnerships, whether locally, nationally or internationally, so you can stay the distance.
Help
Hopefully help those with mental and physical health issues. Governments spend billions annually treating obesity related illnesses and by joining in we aim to bring down the bill and have people live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
Reward
To encourage staying power a scoring system is in place and attendance is recorded. Logged results and attendances is the measure of success and progression.
Convenient Time
There are no schedules to follow as is seen with teams. Each individual is free to chose their own times though groups can block book slots.
All season gaming
Come rain, snow, cold spells and most adverse whether conditions, we aim to make some pitches whether-proof.
Kit/attire
One can wear whatever is comfortable within the confines of being reasonable.
